Exploring a connection
to place.
This land, allowed for me to visualise the indigenous connection to land, whilst exploring the knowledge and stories that are contained within the histories of the place we call home.
The main focus of this project was the Blue Mountains region of NSW. I embarked on a research based task that aimed to bring the history of that place to the modern day.
As the exploration and understanding of place is further acknowledged and respected, we will gain a greater view of the land, and it’s importance and relevance to the indigenous culture. It is not only where they have lived for over 60,000 years, but it is their family, their heritage and their connection. We are now in the position to acknowledge, appreciate, and pay our respects to the land and to all indigenous peoples past, present and future.
